The ip3000 has never worked as it was advertised it would with regard to printing out photos, it will not print on any kind of photo paper / Ink Jet, etc,.without leaving lines across the paper and photo being printed. After spending a lot of time and money trying to get it to work properly it still will not print out photos properly, we are very disapointed with this Canon ip3000.We have our photos printed at a local shop and will continue to do so as the cost of trying to use this printer or buying another one that might work, or not is a waste and just not worth it.This 1p3000 is ok for regular printing but it SUCKS for photos.
I will NEVER buy another Canon product again. I must have thrown over fifty pieces into the garbage.
Unfortunately I replaced it with this ip3000 model. It will not last.
I should have learned my lesson with my first Canon printer. After too many hours of research and dickering, I simple annihilated it into with the largest hammer I have.
The paper feed mechanism will soon go bad. Mine fed paper in at an angle, grabbing it on the right side and ripping it apart.
The problems with this printer are well documented on the internet despite positive feedback here on Amazon. NEVER.
We were able to print a few photos on this printer before it malfunctioned with an error indicating a paper jam. We could find no jam, but have not been able to make the printer function since this problem. The manual and online error messages are completely unhelpful. Thus this printer is junk for us.
I replaced my old HP printer with this one. Which I think is a very good feature. I have also networked a desktop and three laptops to this printer and they all work great. I am very satisfied with this printers performance. Two of the laptops have Windows XP and the third has Windows Vista. I have printed T- Shirt decals, I have printed on photo paper, and even resume paper and everything has come out beautiful. The main reason I bought this printer was because the ink cartridges were much cheaper to replace than the HP. Another good feature is that digital cameras can be connected directly to the printer to make photo prints, so you don't have to bother transferring the images from the camera to your computer.
The speed of the printer is very good as well. It has two paper feeders so you can either load up a large quantity of plain paper, or use the tray for photo paper, and the top feed for plain paper. The desktop is wired and the laptops are wireless. All in all I like this printer best out of all the printers I have owned so far.
Fabulous but discontinued, best for recharging cartidges where it is allowed like in my country
